3 Days   Oregon, Crater Lake National Park

Tour Code: OR3

Departure: Tuesday, Saturday (April - October)

Highlights:
There are few places on earth that can command overwhelming awe from observers, but Crater Lake, in south central Oregon, certainly does. As mysterious as it is beautiful, stories of the deep blue lake can never prepare visitors for their first breathtaking look from the brink of this 6 mile wide caldera which was created by the eruption and collapse of Mt. Mazama almost 7,000 years ago. Even seasoned travelers gasp at the grand twenty-mile circle of cliffs, tinted in subtle shades and fringed with hemlock, fir, and pine: all this in a lake of indescribable blue.

Day 1:   Bay Area - Napa Valley - Redwood National Forest - Eureka
Head north and drive through California's wine country - Napa Valley on the way to the Redwood National Forest. The forest is home to world's tallest trees: old-growth coast redwoods. The trees can live to be 2000 years old and grow to over 300 feet tall. Spruce, hemlock, douglas-fir, berry bushes, and sword ferns create a multiple canopied understory that towers over all visitors. In the afternoon, enter the Redwood National Forest as highlights include: Chandelier Tree, Tree Shop, Founder's Tree Grove, and the Avenue of Giants. Overnight stay in Eureka.
Hotel: Red Lion Hotel or similar

Day 2:   Eureka - Crater Lake - Klamath Falls
Visit Crater Lake National Park. The lake was formed after the collapse of Mount Mazama -an ancient volcano that erupted approximately 7,700 years ago. The lake is 6 miles long, 4 miles wide and 1932 feet deep. Overnight stay in Klamath Falls.
Hotel: Days Inn or similar

Day 3:   Klamath Falls - Mount Shasta View Point - McArthur-Burney Falls - Bay Area
Driving through the picturesque Klamath river basin, you will arrive at foothills of Mt Shasta. At the elevation of 14,179 feet, it is the highest peak in Northern California covered by snow all year round. Then continue to visit Burney Falls once described as "Eighth wonder of the world" by President Theodore Roosevelt. It is unique in that much of the falls comes out of the middle of the face of the cliff. Burney Falls is not the highest or largest, but definitely one of the most beautiful waterfalls on our planet. Head back to Bay Area after the tour.

Among many of similar travel agents, Lassen Tours is the only one travel agent that maintains a Bus Location or Passenger Pickup Location in El Cerrito. This is a big beneficiary to tourists who live in cities north than Berkeley.

Friendly and courteous tour guide. The hotels were nice and clean. Wish we had a chance to ride the boat at Crater Lake. But overall a fantastic experience.

We (4 people group) have joined your tour in 2013, from 6/18~6/20, for 3 days North California and Oregon State Crater Lake trip, the tour code was: OR3. It was really a very nice tour, with good bus and driver, comfortable hotel, perfect tour guide, etc., and all the participants are so friendly, with all these good arrangements, we enjoyed it very much which brought us an unforgetable memory in the tour.

We just back from the 3 days Oregon bus tour. Yes, there was long rides, but on the way through Oregon, the road sceneries were very nice, relax and peaceful. This was a good trip to get away from daily work environment. VERY enjoyable and relax trip so far. I have been on the tour quite a few times, but this was my first time that we had to buy frozen foods/T.V food for dinner. The first day, we stopped by Western Plus Hotel. This was SMOKING FREE room, the little small, but warm. No complain at all. On the 2nd night, we stopped at the hotel, I don’t even remember the name, I should called “MOTEL”. Before we head to the motel, the tour guide dropped everyone to the market to buy frozen foods and brought it back to the motel and microwave it. My first time ever on the tour, eating frozen food for dinner. When we got our room key, OMG the room so smelly and stuffy. The bed sheet was unclean and had flies flied around too. Suggestion for the company, Lately, I acknowledge that there were a lot of English-Speaking Tourists travel along. The Tour guide must be fluent English. So when they overview the place or tell little history of the place the we going to visit to make better understanding for others. Another thing is, when the driver stopped at hotel or station to pick/drop off the tourist. I have been seeing that the driver got down and brought in/out all the luggage’s for the tourists. This time is opposite, the tourists need to get their own luggage from the trunk. Last thing, No needs to ask for more TIP. For sure, tourists will give more tip if they feel the service provide the them are over SATISFACTION.

samwc60: Tour was well organized and on scheduled. Driver and tour guide were friendly and experienced. Only bad was the old and worn out hotel, Days Inn at Klamath Falls on the second night. This hotel should not been used.

Tour was well organized and on scheduled. Driver and tour guide were friendly and experienced. Only bad was the hotel, Days Inn, in Klamath Falls. Hotel was worn out and old. Lassen should have known better not to use this zero star hotel. At lease the hotel did not have bed bugs.

Great tour - Took the tour a few days ago - July. Our tour guide, Nina, was fantastic -- She explained everything in Chinese and English. We only spoke English, so glad she explained in both languages. She told us what to expect, hotel accommodations for day 1 was very very nice. The driver, Wayne was extremely smooth and always there to help us too. Beautiful scenery in Oregon, Klamath, Winery. Bus extremely clean. Liked the videos of the places we were going to see and the enjoyment videos- really helped. Comfortable ride, though a bit long, we had stops along the way. Ate at buffets and many beautiful sites. Glad we had Nina and Wayne for our tour. It really made a difference. Saw Crater Lake (so blue and vast), Winery, Shasta from Vista Point, Burney Falls (spectacular), Redwood forest.. Will definitely use Lassen Tours again. We were from San Francisco. Perfect length of trip for us - 3 days, 2 nights. Will try other tours later. Nice short vacation, though long bus rides. Just as a tip, remember to note the time to return to the bus, when it leaves and if there is any dinner (we paid for our own), but really nice to go with the group. It was relaxing.
